Set up GrowthBook SDKs with your coding agent
The GrowthBook Wizard hands SDK setup to the coding agent you already use. Choose your SDK language and agent, run one command in your project, and the wizard handles sign-in and the SDK Connection. Your agent then plans the application changes and asks you to approve that plan before it edits anything.
From connection to application code
The manual setup path is still available, and it has you follow the installation steps for your language yourself. With the wizard, the work is divided between the wizard and your agent:
- Create an SDK Connection for your chosen environment, or reuse one with matching settings.
- Install GrowthBook Agent Skills so your agent can keep working with flags and experiments later.
- Connect the SDK and check that your project builds.
- Add the targeting attributes you select, such as user ID or plan.
- Flag a behavior you choose, or finish without a flag.
- Open a setup report so you can review created items and failed required checks.
What setup confirms
The report's checks inspect your code. Your SDK Connection shows as connected only after your application requests features from GrowthBook. A/B tests still need metrics and a data source, which setup does not create.
If work is interrupted, your agent can continue from GROWTHBOOK_SETUP.md in your repository root.
Getting started
Use Node.js 22.20.0 or newer and a supported coding agent, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, opencode, Gemini CLI, or Antigravity. In GrowthBook, open Get Started → Connect Your SDK. Select your SDK language and coding agent on the AI-assisted tab. Run the copied command from your repository root, then review your agent's plan.
GrowthBook shows this flow for organizations whose creator selected Engineering at signup. Vercel-managed organizations have their own flow. No-code platforms, Roku, and generic script tags use manual setup. Self-hosted instances need browser sign-in.
Follow the Setup Wizard guide for prerequisites and agent-specific instructions.
