Plan gradual releases with ramp schedules
Ramp schedules let you plan a feature rollout before it starts. You set traffic and targeting for each stage and decide where a teammate must approve the next step. GrowthBook then carries out the stages for you, and you can save the plan to reuse.
Choose exposure and checkpoints
Each stage controls who gets the feature and when the rollout moves on:
- Set a rollout percentage and a wait time for each stage.
- Change targeting as the audience grows.
- Add an approval checkpoint so the schedule waits for a teammate before advancing.
A common pattern is to widen the audience in circles. Release to your own team first, then your whole company, then 10% of all users, and increase from there. An approval checkpoint gives someone a chance to check how the release is going before more people see it.
You can save the plan as a template and apply it to another feature. Before starting, review who receives the feature at each stage.
Add Safe Rollouts monitoring
Ramp schedules control timing, targeting, and approvals. Add Safe Rollouts monitoring when you also want metric checks as exposure grows. Monitoring is optional and configured separately.
Getting started
Ramp schedules currently require an Enterprise plan.
- Add a targeting rule to a feature, choose Ramp-up as its release plan, and configure the steps.
- Publish the revision to arm the schedule. A schedule saved inside a draft waits until you publish.
- Follow the ramp schedule setup guide for step options, approvals, and templates.
